Meet David

What he’s passionate about: serving his country, history, aerospace engineering

David

When you meet David, he may come across as a little quiet—at first. But as he begins to talk about his passions, interests and goals for the future, his eyes light up, and he speaks with an air of excitement and confidence. David knows where he is going in life.

His goal after graduating from high school is enlisting in the U. S. Marine Corps.

That’s why he’s part of his high school’s JROTC program. David is quick to say that for him, JROTC is all about guiding students into developing leadership skills and learning to be better citizens—two assets that he believes will carry him far in life.

He became interested in the military because of his school’s engaging history courses. He felt in awe of the heroes he read about. David’s interest escalated when he learned more about these heroes and the medals they received for their honor and bravery.

With conviction, the teenager says he strongly considers being able to serve and defend his country and protect our citizens one of the greatest honors he could achieve.

When asked about his approach to the future, he shares his advice:

“Never give up on making your dreams come true and never lose hope.”

He knows that his Rowan-Salisbury courses—especially ones focused on advanced manufacturing and robotics—will take him to the next level and help make his dreams a reality.

David plans to pursue a career in engineering and aerospace while he is a Marine. He hopes to one day work at NASA and become an inventor of aircrafts. We know his maturity and wisdom—both far beyond his young years—will help him exceed all his goals.
